Welcoming Letter
Grant, A. M. (n.d.). «If knowledge is power, accepting that we don’t know is wisdom.»
Dear Delegates,
With great pleasure, we welcome you to AISMUN’s Internal Conference.
Together, Antonella Pabon, and Carolina Bayona, we are excited and honored to serve as
the Dais of the Disarmament and International Security Committee.
You may have heard the phrase, «We are the leaders of the future,» but in reality, we are the leaders of the present. Acknowledging this responsibility, we must prepare ourselves to face the challenges of the 21st century—a time when society urgently requires our engagement. Model United Nations (MUN) offers an exceptional opportunity to demonstrate our abilities while acquiring new skills.
Viewing MUN as a learning experience rather than merely a forum for debate will significantly enhance your personal growth and broaden your perspectives. As Adam Grant wisely stated, «If knowledge is power, accepting that we don’t know is wisdom.» We encourage you to embrace this mindset throughout the conference, listening attentively to external interventions and proposals that may introduce innovative ideas to enrich the debate.
It is important to note that, as your Dais, we are committed to supporting your preparation process leading up to the conference. During the event, we will also provide continuous guidance to your delegations. Please do not hesitate to reach out, and remember that confidence in your abilities is key to making this conference a success.
We look forward to meeting each of you and fostering a productive and enriching experience.
Best regards,
Antonella Pabon and Carolina Bayona
