Welcoming Letter

Dear delegates,
Welcome to the distinguished AISMUN’s Internal Conference 2024. Our names are Isabella Ávila and Alejandro Hillenbrand, and we are honored to serve as the presidents of the Data Privacy Management Committee (DPM). We are excited to begin this crucial journey alongside you and look forward to the insightful and impactful discussions that lie ahead.

The Committee of DPM is tasked with addressing critical issues surrounding data privacy, with a focus on the troubling topic of pedophile networks facilitated through social media platforms. Specifically, we will examine the case study of how Meta’s encrypted technology has been used to target minors. This issue presents complex challenges, including security breaches that place children in vulnerable situations and the need for effective regulations to identify and address online predators. While DPM may not be an official United Nations committee, the principles of diplomacy, respect, and constructive dialogue remain central to our work. Let us engage with a spirit of cooperation and maintain a global perspective on the impact of our decisions.

This guide provides background information and guidance on data privacy and online safety. For any questions or support, feel free to contact us. Your active participation and commitment are essential for our success. Let’s tackle this challenge with enthusiasm, respect, and dedication.

Warm regards,
Isabella Avila, Alejandro Hillenbrand
